Tyler Perrys Madeas Big Happy Family, was written, produced, directed by and stars Tyler Perry. The story focuses on a middle-aged single mother named Miss Shirley (performed on stage by Chandra Currelley-Young), who has just received a diagnosis of terminal cancer. With the help of Madea, she assembles her grown children (and their significant others) for one final reunion, during which loyalties are tested and unpleasant truths are spilled. Everything that happens as a result of Shirleys major announcement will either bring the family closer together or tear them apart forever. Madea, Shirleys closest friend and confidant, tries to step in and help Shirleys family find their way, Madeas way. Tyler Perrys Madeas Big Happy Family features the talents of some of his most notable fan favorites including Cassi Davis of "House of Payne" fame in the role of weed-smoking Aunt Bam, Palmer Williams Jr., who plays barber Floyd on House of Payne as the crackhead brother Monroe, R&B singing sensation Cheryl "Pepsii" Riley and actress/singer Chandra Currelley-Young, who also starred in Tyler Perrys first stage play production, I Know Ive Been Changed. Both Riley and Currelley-Young are longtime Tyler Perry collaborators.
